Email QR Code Generator
Create a QR code that opens a pre-filled email.
What is an email QR code?
An email QR code opens the scanner's email app with the recipient, subject and message already filled in. It's built on the standard mailto: link, so no special app is required.
How to create one
Enter the recipient address and, optionally, CC, BCC, a subject and a body. We validate the address format and URL-encode the subject and body so punctuation and line breaks survive. Preview the generated mailto: link before downloading.
How mailto works
The code doesn't send anything by itself — it simply pre-fills a draft. The person scanning still reviews and sends the email from their own account, so they stay in control.
Where to use it
Great for "Contact us" posters, feedback cards, support signage and printed forms where you want to make emailing effortless.
Privacy and security
The recipient and message are encoded on your device and never uploaded. Because it only opens a draft, an email QR code can't secretly send mail on anyone's behalf.
Limitations
Some email apps ignore a pre-filled body or trim long messages. Keep the subject and body short for the widest compatibility.
Frequently asked questions
Does scanning send the email automatically?
No. It opens a pre-filled draft that the sender reviews and sends manually.
Can I include CC and BCC?
Yes, both are optional fields and are added to the mailto link.
Will long messages work?
Short messages are most reliable; some apps truncate long pre-filled bodies.
