Free tools, provided as-is
QRBarcodeTools provides free online tools "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make them accurate, but we can't guarantee every generated code will scan on every device or meet every standard.
Your responsibility to verify
You are responsible for testing generated codes before relying on them — especially before printing at scale. Use the built-in verification and scan a real sample on your target devices.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use these tools to create codes for unlawful, deceptive or harmful purposes. Specifically, do not use them to:
- Direct people to phishing pages, malware, or any site that impersonates another organisation.
- Place a code over another party's code — on a parking meter, a payment terminal, a menu, an invoice — to redirect payments or credentials. This is a common fraud pattern and it is the reason our safety guide exists.
- Encode a GTIN, ISBN, ISSN or other identifier that has not been issued to you.
- Infringe another party's trademarks or copyrights, including by placing their logo in a code you do not represent them in publishing.
- Attempt to overload, scrape at scale, or interfere with the operation of this site.
These tools run entirely in your browser, so we cannot see what you generate and cannot enforce this by inspection. That places the responsibility with you rather than removing it.
Barcodes and official registration
Generating a UPC, EAN or other barcode image does not register or assign an official product number. Official numbers are issued by GS1 and other authorities, and retail distribution has its own requirements you must satisfy separately. The disclaimer sets this out in full.
What you own
Codes you generate are yours. We claim no rights over them, no licence to them, and no attribution. You may use them commercially, on products, on packaging and in print, without restriction from us and without a watermark. Any logo you upload remains yours — it is processed in your browser and never reaches us.
The site itself — its code, layout, text and guides — remains ours.
Service changes and availability
These tools are provided free, with no account and no contract. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time and without notice, and we do not commit to any level of availability.
Because the codes are static and generated on your device, anything you have already downloaded keeps working regardless of what happens to this site. That is a deliberate property of static codes: nothing you produce here depends on us continuing to exist.
Third-party services
The site loads Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Your use of those is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy, and their behaviour is outside our control. The privacy policy describes what each collects and how to opt out.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, QRBarcodeTools is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, these tools. That includes, without limitation: losses from codes that fail to scan; costs of reprinting labels or packaging; consequences of relying on a generated barcode number; rejected shipments or listings; and any loss of data, revenue or goodwill.
You are responsible for testing generated codes before relying on them, particularly before any print run. Where the amount at stake is significant, verify a physical sample.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above and noted in the changelog. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
